Arillus Longan (Longyanrou/Guiyuan) —-Longan Aril

Origin
Longan Aril is the of Dimocarpus lonhsn Lour ( Fam. Sapindaceae ). The drug is collected in summer and autumn when fruit is ripe, dried, removed from shell and nutlet, and dried in the sun until it becomes unsticky.
Description
Longitudinally broke and irregular slices, frequendy several slices agglutinated, about 1.5cm long, 2~4cm wide, about 1mm thick. Brown, translucent. One surface shrank, the other surface lustrous , with longitudinally fine wrinkles. Texture soft. Odour, slightly aromatic; taste, sweet.

Action and Indication

1. Long Yan Qi Zao Zheng Zi Ji
Broiler Steamed with Longan Aril, WolfBerry Fruit and Date
[Ingredients]
1 broiler
30g long yan rou, longan aril (Arillus Longan )
30g gou qi zi, wolfberry fruit (Fructus Lycii )
30g Chinese dates
[Preparation]
Remove feather and viscera of a broiler and stuff the broiler with long yan rou, gou qi zi and Chinese dates, then steam it in a bamboo steamer. Season and serve.
[Effects and Indications]
Nourishing blood, invigorating spleen,benefiting liver,brightening
eyes.
Myopia, asthenopia, vertigo, palpitation, insomnia and spiridessness.
2. Long Yan Ren Shen Yin
Longan Aril and Ginseng Decoction
[ingredients]
30g long yan rou, longan aril (Arillus Longan )
6g ren shen, ginseng ( Radix Ginseng )
30g crystal sugar
[Preparation]
Wash long yan rou and cut ginseng into thin pieces. Put the two ingredients in a bowl and add in some crystal sugar and water. Steam for about an hour. Take it twice a day when it cools off.

Nourishing the middle energizer, benefiting qi, consolidating superficies for arresting sweating.
Qi deficiency and night sweating.
